Interactive workshops provide hands-on learning opportunities with clear learning objectives. For 2025, the program committee will consider workshop proposals for both in-person delivery and virtual delivery.
Virtual
ASPBs virtual workshops will be broadcast live in the weeks leading to the in-person event. 2024 virtual workshop attendance ranged from 35-75 participants (aligns with number of in-person workshop attendees) from more than 15 countries.
In-Person
The program committee will provide a tentative schedule outlining when workshops will be held in late October 2024. Final date/time will be assigned late-February, early March when the full scientific agenda is released.
As the proposal submitter, you will be responsible for designing the workshop. Workshop topics range from communication techniques to mental health to career development and everything in between. Workshops can be 30, 60, 90, or 120 minutes (about 4 hours) long and delivered in-person or virtually.
If selected, you will:
- Ensure that workshop facilitators are informed and meet programmatic deadlines.
- Designate a session chair to facilitate the discussion.
- Ensure that all required material is submitted.
- Serve as the point of contact to the planning committee.

You must include at least two facilitators and up to seven. Two facilitators, per workshop, will be eligible for the speaker pricing.
Yes. Please advise the proposed facilitators that you have included them in your proposal as they will receive an email from ASPB notifying them of their inclusion in your proposal and requesting them to provide demographic information. This is NEW for 2025, and the change was made based on feedback from 2024.
Two workshop facilitators are eligible for the speaker rate. If more than two facilitators are listed in the proposal, the proposal submitter will be asked to advise ASPB of who should receive the special pricing. Once accepted as a speaker, ASPB will code the speaker profile, and the special rate will be visible. Please note that by Internal Revenue Service tax rules, ASPB must report the difference between the Non-member or Member rate and speaker rate as income and all speakers must provide ASPB with a W-9 or W-8 BEN to receive the speaker rate. Once accepted as a facilitator AND forms received, ASPB will code your profile, and the speaker rate will be visible. Facilitators can opt-out of the speaker rate if they wish.
ASPB offers a limited number of travel grants to attend the annual meeting. Apply here.
