The Plant Biology event has been designed to minimize its ecological footprint, specifically through:
- Using technology to reduce paper use. Presentation materials and handouts from speakers will be digitally distributed, and the full program will be available only digitally.
- Making minimum waste our goal, selecting options based on energy efficiency, sustainable waste disposal, reuse, recycling and more.
- Asking Plant Biology partners to keep sustainability at the center of their experience.
- Encouraging Plant Biology suppliers to choose sustainable sources for food products, equipment and materials.
Each Plant Biology attendee can support our sustainability efforts by minimizing single-use plastics, refraining from collecting or distributing handouts, and recycling. Attendees are encouraged to bring reusable water bottles. Encouraging others to adopt these practices will help us all ensure a healthy and sustainable future.
