ASPB is proud to support educational and professional development opportunities through a limited number of travel awards defraying the cost of attendance at Plant Biology 2026.
Each travel award program has specific eligibility requirements and application timelines.
ECPS Travel Award
Application Deadline: April 10, 2026
The ECPS Section is currently accepting applications for travel awards for the Plant Biology annual meeting in Ottawa, July 18-22. Fifteen Awards of up to $500 will be distributed. Applications close at 11:59 pm Pacific Time on April 10th and awardees will be notified via email in early May.

Application submissions are closed for Plant Biology 2026
For all beginning their careers in plant science, including students, postdocs, and pre-tenure faculty. The travel award program aims to increase the attendance of early career scientists at the annual meeting by providing funds for those in financial need. Applicants must be members of ASPB; however, U.S. residency is not a requirement to apply.
Women’s Young Investigator Travel Awards
Application Deadline: November 14, 2025
Application submissions are closed for Plant Biology 2026
For women investigators within the first five years of their appointments. The goal of the program is to increase the attendance of early-career women investigators who are within the first five years of their appointment in academic faculty-level positions, government research positions, or corporate research scientist positions, as well as experienced postdocs.
Primarily Undergraduate Institution (PUI) Section Travel Award
Application Deadline: November 14, 2025
Application submissions are closed for Plant Biology 2026
The travel award offered by the American Society of Plant Biologists (ASPB) PUI Section is designed to increase attendance of faculty from Primarily Undergraduate Institutions (PUIs) at the annual meeting by providing funds for those in financial need. This award will provide financial assistance to attend Plant Biology 2026. Early-career scientists and faculty at PUI institutions are strongly encouraged to apply. International applicants are welcome.
Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Recognition Travel Awards
Application Deadline: December 1, 2025
Application submissions are closed for Plant Biology 2026
For members of groups minoritized in the U.S. scientific workforce and those directly supporting the education and professional development of students in such groups. Recognition Travel Awards provide “full ride” fellowships to attend ASPB’s annual meeting for students, postdocs, and faculty who are themselves members of groups minoritized in the US scientific workforce and/or who are directly supporting the education and professional development of students in such groups.
