Family Resources

Plant Biology 2022 is family friendly! Parents and children are welcome and encouraged to attend.

The Oregon Convention Center offers family restrooms as well as private, secure Mamava nursing suites.

The June 10 deadline to register for child care has passed. Arrangements have been made based on the response to registration. If you did not make a request by the deadline and are in need of child care during Plant Biology 2022, please contact Portland Nannies

Child tickets are available for each of the exhibit hall receptions (Saturday 6:00 – 7:30 pm, Sunday 5:00 – 7:00 pm, Monday 4:30 – 6:00 pm) and the Annual Party (Tuesday 7:30 – 11:00 pm). Each child (excepting babies in arms) needs their own ticket for the specific event. Tickets are $10 per child under 12 and $20 per child 12 and over.

Please note our policies designed for the comfort and safety of all attending Plant Biology 2022.

  • Children must be actively supervised by an adult at all times while in the Oregon Convention Center.
  • To maintain quiet learning environments, children will not be admitted to scientific and plenary sessions.
  • Supervising adults must ensure children observe a “don’t touch” policy with exhibitor tables and displays.
  • Adults are encouraged to serve food to children under their care.

ASPB may change these policies during the course of the Plant Biology 2022 event or ask supervising adults to remove children from the Convention Center.

“I brought my 6-week-old to PB 2012 in Austin. My mom traveled with me, so I did not need to find childcare on site. Austin has a very large conference center, and we always were able to find a quiet space to nurse. In the evenings, I would bring him to the poster session.”
