Independent Abstract Proposal

All members of the plant biology community are invited to submit an abstract (body of abstract cannot exceed 300 words) on their topic of expertise. Abstracts will be reviewed by the Program Committee.

Each proposal will be considered for:

A 20-minute in-person talk
A 3-minute lightening in-person talk
A 20-minute virtual talk

If selected, the talk will be placed in a concurrent symposium developed by the Program Committee.

How do I know if I work at a PUI (Primarily Undergraduate Institution)?

PUIs are US institutions that grant baccalaureate degrees and award fewer than 10 PhD degrees per year in all NSF-supported disciplines. For instance, while Penn State has more undergraduate students than grad students, it is not a PUI as it does not meet the criteria.

I see that there is a speaker registration rate, who is eligible for that special rate?

Concurrent Symposia presenters are eligible for the speaker rate. ASPB will code your profile, and the special rate will be visible. Please note that by Internal Revenue Service tax rules, ASPB must report the difference between the Non-member or Member rate and speaker rate as income and all speakers must provide ASPB with a W-9 or W-8 BEN to receive the speaker rate. Once accepted as a speaker AND forms received, ASPB will code the speaker profile, and the speaker rate will be visible. Speakers can opt-out of the speaker rate if they wish.

Is Funding available?

ASPB offers a limited number of travel grants to attend the annual meeting. Apply here.
