Ottawa area families will have an opportunity to get scientific with their love of plants when Plant Science Saturday takes place Saturday, July 18 from 9:00 AM-1 PM at the Main Street Market (Grande Allee Park, 185 Main Street). Designed for budding plant scientists of all ages, plant scientists will host discovery stations to inspire excitement and curiosity about plants and plant life.
Plant Science Saturday originated out of the desire for Plant Biology conference attendees to give back to their host cities. Information about volunteer opportunities will be shared in May/June 2026.
Take a leisurely stroll beneath the shade of leafy maples while you shop for the finest seasonal produce, meats, dairy, baked goods, prepared foods, and so much more. Grab a bite at the food court, enjoy live music from talented local performers, and experience the vibrant atmosphere of the market.

Volunteer: Plant Biology 2026 attendees are invited to volunteer at the event. Volunteer sign-up sheets will be shared with registered attendees in April/May. ASPB will offer a shuttle from the hotels to the market.
Support the Farmers Market: The market is open to the public and Plant Biology 2026 attendees are welcome to attend . Check out the market website or with your hotel concierge for transportation information.
