Planning your trip to Plant Biology 2024 is about much more than which sessions to attend and who you’d like to connect with. Parents and caregivers are vital members of the plant science community, and ASPB is proud to offer options to support their participation. 

Onsite Childcare 

ASPB will provide subsidized onsite childcare. Keiki Sitters, a licensed childcare provider, will be on hand at the convention center to keep children entertained with games, arts and crafts, reading aloud and other activities. All Keiki Sitters are experienced, certified in CPR and first aid, and have clean background checks.  

The deadline for childcare reservations is May 8, 2024. ASPB will confirm childcare hours based on submitted reservations, which can be changed or cancelled until May 8. For rates, planned availability, policies and how to make a reservation, see our Family Resources page.  

Nursing Pod at the Convention Center 

The Hawaii Convention Center offers a private, comfortable and secure nursing pod. Access is gained through either the Mamava app or convention center staff. The pod is equipped with seating, an outlet and USB port, and places to put your belongings. Learn more here. 

Family Space at the Convention Center 

ASPB will provide a room where families may meet and gather during the event, equipped with tables, chairs and a water station. This room will not be staffed, and children under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
